Salt Sabouraud Dulcitol (SSD) Broth is a selective and non-differential medium used in qualitative screening procedures for the cultivation and selection of Candida auris, an emerging pathogen with multidrug resistance. SSD Broth is used as an enrichment step to support growth Candida auris, which can be present in complex skin samples. Multiple published methods are available and include use of a pre-enrichment step (utilizing SSD Broth) with subsequent subculture onto Salt Sabouraud Dulcitol Agar or a chromogenic medium such as Chameleon™ COLOREX™ Candida Plus. Bile Esculin Agar (BEA) is a selective and differential medium utilized for the isolation of enterococci and group D streptococci, including Streptococcus bovis, from non-group D streptococci. Facklam and Moody demonstrated in 1970 that using a bile esculin test was a reliable way of identifying group D streptococci. When using BEA, they determined that all group D streptococci blacken this medium. For detection and enumeration of aerobic endospore formers from water samples by membrane filtration.Directions:Suspend 23.02 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 45-50°C. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri plates.

RPI media is now available in convenient premeasured and pre-mixed capsules. Prebuffered media eliminates pH adjustments. Capsules contain all necessary ingredients for maintenance and propagation of E. coli.
Simply add 2 x 500 mL capsules to one liter of water, sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes at 121°C. Supplied as 40 gm capsule.
Final Solution Contains:
Yeast Extract: 5 g/l
Agar: 15 g/l

RPI Media is now available in convenient pre-measured and pre-mixed capsules. Prebuffered media eliminates messy weighing and pH adjustments.
Simply dissolve 25 capsules per 1 Liter of distilled water. Water must be 37°C or warmer to completely dissolve gelatin capsule. Agitate. Sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes before use. Buffer is set for 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C using a 10mM solution of Tris/Tris HCl. pH will vary depending on temperature.
